Jiu Jitsu Techniques
These throws shown below are the same as those taught in Jiu Jitsu. Techniques for throws used in Judo have the same origins.
The essence of Jiu Jitsu is to move fluidly from one techniques to another in order to defend yourself.
There are really only a small number of Jiu Jitsu Techniques but by understanding the system it is possible to turn one technique into many more.
Jiu Jitsu Techniques help gain an advantage by using leverage, momentum and anatomy. To gain a maximum effect by using the body in striking and throwing, by targeting the weak and sensitive areas of the body.
Jiu Jitsu Techniques can be super effective and often simple to learn.
Throws, submissions, escapes, weapons defense, ground Defense and a whole array of Jiu Jitsu techniques that are used in each of these areas.
It is not uncommon to find Police and Military Forces teaching Jiu Jitsu Techniques for their method of unarmed combat. It is often the simple tecniques that prove to be most effective for such applications, as under high stress, it is very difficult for most people to carry out fine-motor or complex movements.
Jiu Jitsu techniques can be used in Self Defense, competition and Traditional Arts. Although each of these areas are very different, there is a big overlap in similarity between the styles that teach all of these areas.
Jiu Jitsu Techniques are very easy to learn but take time and effort to improve on. They are usually practiced in their basic form with very little resistance in the initial sessions and then are practiced in more difficult situations.
In order to perform Jiu Jitsu techniques at a high level then they must be practiced regularly but just as importantly, the Jitsuka (Person who trains in Jiu Jitsu) must work on his or her conditioning and all the areas that are required there.
Martial arts condtioning can be very time consuming as there are so many areas that require attention.
